Client is a Fortune 100 Bank, and over the past decade, various business units had created over 2000 replica databases of trade & client data. The replicas, many of which were not necessary or being used, were costly to maintain and posed a serious regulatory risk to the bank. With a deadline approaching for meeting a critical compliance requirement, the client’s enterprise data management group needed to urgently figure out a) which business units were actually using “their” replicas, b) which actual data were being consumed and by whom, and c) which business units and users had access to PII data.
